The Doernbecher Collection, which allows children from the Doernbecher Hospital to put their own spin on select Nike silhouettes. The Air Force One is no stranger to the collection, having made an appearance in 2018 and they will be included in the upcoming one.
This Air Force One will be designed by 14-year-old Zion Thompson of Eugene, Oregon who was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s lymphoma. It’s white leather upper features a debossed floral pattern on the toe and eyestay overlays. The lateral and medial Swooshes are replaced by embroidered roses. On the rear heel overlay rose gold is found, with the same hue found on a border that sits right above the midsole. On the insoles , midsole and outsole is the word “survivor.”
The “Doernbecher” Ait Force 1 is set to release sometime during the holiday season at nike.com and select retail locations. They entire collection will be unveiled November 8 at the Peter W. Scott Center.
